3. Starfire Sports Athletic Center, Tukwila, WA

Description: This 26-acre site was recently the City of Tukwila’s Fort Dent Park and is located on a former WW II military facility adjacent to the Green River. The 90,000 sf metal building contains two indoor soccer turf playing fields, management offices, retail spaces, training areas, corporate display areas, locker rooms, and a food court. Part of the project is the refurbishment of a concrete grandstand into a State of Washington Certified Tournament Soccer Field. The end product will actually be four structures under one roof within a single building This project is complicated by a site that is within 3-feet of the water table and adjacent to a salmon bearing river. In addition, access to the site is limited to a single concrete bridge.
